Job Summary:
They are looking for a skilled SQL Database Administrator to manage our SQL database hosted in a hybrid windows environment. The ideal candidate will ensure effective data backup, integrity, indexing, shrinking, and support for scripting and SQL reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the SQL databases in Azure/onprem to ensure its availability, performance, and security.
- Perform regular data backups and implement restoration procedures to guarantee data integrity and reliability.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through effective indexing and data shrinking practices.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Create and generate SQL reports to provide valuable insights for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for database management and security.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support application data requirements and data integration efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- NYSC certification is compulsory.
- Proven 5–8 years’ experience as a SQL Database Administrator/Developer or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database management.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, indexing, and shrinking.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and report generation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
