by Cormart Nigeria Limited is a leading supplier of industrial chemicals and raw materials across Nigeria and West Africa. They are looking for a skilled and experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (R&A) Technician to join their team.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. A solid understanding of HVAC principles is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and service refrigeration and air conditioning systems (split units, VRF/VRV, chillers, industrial cooling units)
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related faults
- Carry out repairs and replace components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, control boards, etc.)
- Handle refrigerants safely – recovery, recycling, and recharging
- Maintain accurate service records and advise clients on energy efficiency
- Respond to emergency breakdown calls
Requirements:
- Minimum of OND, Trade Test Certificate, or equivalent in R&A, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on R&A/HVAC experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC principles and systems
- Proficiency in refrigerant handling and gas charging
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- City & Guilds, NABTEB, or any recognized HVAC/R certification is an advantage
