by Welcome, today I am sharing an important update about the DV-2027 entry period. This is solely on information from the official U.S Department of State.
The department has confirmed that the DV-2027 entry period will happen but the start date has not been announced yet. The delay is due to system updates needed to introduce a new $1 entry fee for each primary submission. This administrative change must be completed before the entry system can open.
They’ve also clarified that the delay is not related to politics or government shutdowns. It is strictly because of the technical adjustments being made to the entry platform. Because the registration window will open later than usual, the DV-2027 results will also be released later than the typical early May time frame.
The exact date will be published once the entry dates are finalized. What has not changed is the visa application period for selected entrants. That will still run from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027 as scheduled.
Since everything will be happening on a tighter timeline, it’s important to stay alert, prepare early, and follow all instructions carefully, especially with photos and personal details, to avoid disqualification.
