About The University of Auckland International Excellence Scholarship:
The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship was established in 2016 to attract high-caliber international students to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The scholarship provides up to $10,000 toward compulsory tuition fees for new international students enrolling in one-year or longer programs.

Who can Apply for the University of Auckland International Excellence Scholarship?
The eligibility criteria include:
- International students who are neither citizens, permanent residents, nor resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia
- New students who have received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission or an English Language Academy (ELA) student with a conditional or unconditional offer of admission.
- Students enrolled or enrolling in the Summer Start International program, with a conditional or unconditional offer of admission.
- Students must be enrolling full-time in either an undergraduate degree (with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications), PGDip, or master’s program, or specific engineering master’s programs at Waipapa Taumata Rau.
How are Applicants Selected?
- Applications are made to the Scholarships Office.
- A Selection Committee assesses the applications.
- The Scholarship is awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.
