The latest visa bulletin, Visa Bulletin For February 2026 is out, and that means the latest diversity visa cut-off numbers have now been released. In this post, I’ll walk you through the March 2026 cut-off numbers for all regions and exception countries for DV-2026, so you can see whether your case number is now current.
Below is the DV-2026-March-2026 cut-off numbers. We have region or country in March 2026 cut-off.
Africa is 45,000. For exception countries from the Africa region, Algeria is 37,000 and Egypt is 22,250.
Asia is 30,000. For the only exception country in the Asia region, Nepal is 6,500.
Europe is 11,000. North America (the Bahamas) is 30. Oceania is 1,200. South America and the Caribbean is 2,100.
These are the official diversity visa cut-off numbers published by the U.S. Department of State for March 2026.
Now let’s take a closer look at how the March 2026 cut-off numbers compare with February 2026, and what the movements, or lack of movement, actually means for diversity visa selectees. When a region’s cut-off doesn’t change or stays the same from one month to the next, it typically reflects a balancing of visa number usage and demand, where the Department of State is ensuring that too many cases are not made current for the month concerned. Regions and countries that did not change or stayed the same.
Africa, the cut-off remained 45,000 in both February and March 2026. That means the overall pace of eligibility for most Africa chargeable cases stabilized from February to March. Algeria, the cut-off held at 37,000 in both months, indicating that eligibility for Algerian applicants remained consistent.
Asia, the main Asia number stayed at 30,000 for both months, showing no forward movement for the broader region. Nepal, unchanged at 6,500, meaning the same number of Nepalese applicants remained eligible for March as in February. Europe, the Europe cut-off also remained steady at 11,000.
North America, Bahamas, moved from 25 to 30. While the numbers are small, this increase does mean that most Bahamas chargeable applicants are now current. Oceania, advanced from 1,175 to 1,200, a typical small increment consistent with gradual expansion of eligibility in smaller regions. South America and the Caribbean, shifted from 2,000 to 2,100, making more cases from this region eligible for March interview.
Overall pattern. Some regions, especially Africa, Asia, Algeria, Nepal, and Europe, remained consistent, which often reflects careful pacing by the Department of State to ensure visas are allocated efficiently across the year. Incremental gains in Egypt, Bahamas, Oceania, and South America and Caribbean.
Applicants whose case numbers are equal to or exceed the regional or country-specific cut-off numbers cited earlier are not eligible for March interview. Those applicants should look out for the next visa bulletin, which will typically be published between February 7 and February 15, to determine whether their case number will become current by then. The cut-off numbers announced in that upcoming bulletin will apply in April 2026.
The visa bulletin is issued monthly and serves as the official mechanism by which diversity visa selectees learn when their case number will become current or eligible for interview scheduling. As the 2026 program continues, we will continue tracking the visa bulletin progression month by month. That is it concerning the release of the latest visa bulletin.
